   0.         if the Moon

can be seen from the earth it must be

perceived as such.

It's physical body like a mother.

Introduce a disturbance into

your environment:

an asteroid

a pebble dropped in a pond

a beam of light cutting through trees;

From where we stand, we see how it's

form changes.

Rust coloured stars dance in

Selene's gleam pulls us in like jewelled insects,

devoted.

I dreamt, I looked through a telescope,

and saw distinct waves that

ebbed

and

flowed

in the same direction as breath,

our body a mechanism taken for granted.

As we sit around the table together, we

agree that with every

there comes renewal. A renewal that is

elemental and

seen by everything.

The deities, their draped dresses,

the legends born in coves,

flames,

us.

It's closer than you might imagine.

There is no fanciful

fairy tale to be found here. Only beauty

and truth, from

the shadow of the moon that moves

with you,

V.           This poem is composed by Lucia Dove for the selene project.
